OUTIN at That That

May 25, 2013

Alex DiJulio and Samantha McCurdy have been working through similar ideas of push and pull, in and out. By bending typically flat planes into stretched, pushed or pulled ones, and a heightened awareness of edges, framing and surface texture works are never exclusively ever painting or sculpture.

“Alex and I are in a great place artistically with one another. In previous work our aesthetic executions have been strikingly similar and hard to differentiate between who’s was who’s……..with this body of work we are discussing the same concept on convex and concave shapes. Flirting with the idea of in’s and out’s and although our concept is the same we are executing these ideas in very different ways” -S

Come check out what we have been up to in the studio lately!
